You're the engineer in the room

Most internships hand you a ticket queue and a mentor who is too busy for you. This one hands you a client and a problem that is costing them real money.

You sit with the people who use what we build. You hear the problem first-hand, find what is slow or broken, and fix it. Most of what we ship is in production within the first week of a project.

How it works

You find the problem, work out the fix with the client, and build it.

No red tape. No ticket queue to get access. No waiting three days for an approval or a meeting about the meeting.

That freedom comes with a bar. What ships has to work for the person using it, and we'll teach you how to clear that bar: how to scope a fix, test it on real data, and review what your AI agents write before it goes live.

You merge your own work. You test it the way the client will use it, and if it breaks, you fix it.

What you'll build in 2027

Mortgage files hold Social Insurance Numbers, income, credit reports and ID. In January we start making AI safe to use on them:

• A privacy layer that strips personal data before anything reaches an outside AI model, runs the sensitive work on our own machines, and logs every AI request.
• Integrations that connect our CRM to lenders, the credit bureau, phone, email, e-signature and document storage, so nobody re-types a borrower's details again.
• Document processing that reads pay stubs, T4s and bank statements, pulls out what the lender needs, and flags what is missing.

What you'll do

• Sit with the client. Watch how the work actually gets done, ask questions, and write down what is slow or broken.
• Build the fix. Mostly TypeScript, Next.js and Postgres on Supabase. The problem decides the tool.
• Run AI agents, and own what they write. Claude Code and Codex, several at once. You direct them and review their output. When one writes bad code and you ship it, that's on you.
• Test on real data with a real user waiting to try it.
• Ship small pieces often. When something breaks, say so, then fix it.

What you get

• Your own Mac.
• Frontier AI. Claude, ChatGPT and Codex subscriptions on us.
• Remote days. Client days and office days are in person.

After four months

• Strong interns get extended to eight months, and the best get a full-time offer.
• Either way, you leave with production work real people use.

Who's a good fit

• You built something and finished it. A side project, a deployed site, a repo with real commits. We weight it over grades and we don't screen on GPA.
• You use AI to write code, or want to learn to use it well. Either is fine. We can tell the difference, and we're happy with both.
• You can talk to people who don't code. You can listen to a messy description of a problem and come back with a useful question.
• Depth in something. Anything you've gone deep on, technical or not. It tells us you know what getting good at something takes.

Don't apply if you want a fully specified ticket before you start, or four months of code without meeting a user.
